Indie Animation

It’s a great time to check out indie animation on YouTube, here’s some that I’ve found!

Multiple Episodes

  • The Amazing Digital Circus - Okay if you hadn’t heard of this, you’re living under a rock. GLITCH Production.
  • Knights of Guinevere - Again, are you living under a rock? GLITCH Production.
  • It’s Bunlith: The Witch Upstairs - I think you’d have to be chronically online to appreciate this? Admittedly a lot of Dark Souls/Bloodborne references I don’t get. Wild to see what was originally a collection of shit posts become a full series. Full of gags. Yeag.
  • Spooky Month - This gets more elaborate every year, starting as lil October gag, to a full on evolving story.
  • Pretty Please I Don’t Want to be a Magical Girl - What if the chosen magical savior of the universe wanted no part of it?
  • Mammal Squad - A group of friends entering college in New York City. The first 6 episodes that are out now are all character focused stories. There’s some very real dynamics between the characters, with a hint of some darker plots and issues down the time.

Pilots

  • Gameoverse - A universe where each planet is a different game. Everything’s fine, as long as the… villian wins? So you have a team of bad guys trying to make the heroes of these games win, and our heroes trying to make sure the heroes of the games lose. Another GLITCH production. I assume we’re going to explore various types of game genres. There’s definitely more layers to this, and I’m excited to see what Ross has been working on since he left Game Grumps all those years ago
  • Mandelbrot Hall - Take the most anxious college freshman and subject her to cosmic horrors. I’m very interested to see in what ways Weird Al will haunt the plot.
  • Plastic Crunch - I don’t even know where to explain the plot on this one… Twink finds a small robot while moving to the city. OCs everywhere. This world feels like a tumblr fever dream. Is this sci-fi or fantasy? Has a couple musical numbers. I’m not sure if it’s trying to do too much, or if it has a lot to setup.
  • The GraveYard Shift
