• Whose idea was it to have a furry convention during the peak of summer?

    • Missed out on the main features of the convention because of the heat, Parade and Block Party
    • May have had a minor case of heat exhaustion
    • Only ended up with a little bit of sunburn on my neck.
  • While it is the largest convention, (aside from a few events) everything is spread out enough where it didn’t feel as busy as FWA or MFF

    • Waterfront parties went to early in the morning.
    • Dealers Den could have been worse
    • Rave wasn’t really busy, entering/leaving was just a pain in the ass.
  • Staying at Wyndam Grand;

    • In a double room, There’s only enough floor space for a twin-sized air mattress, if you happen to have an extra person in your party.
    • The Samsung TVs in the rooms don’t have buttons, and it’s a weird hotel TV remote. If you want to use HDMI, you’ll need to bring a universal remote or bring a Flipper Zero
    • Advantage of this hotel, you are closer to market square, where most of the food is.
    • Parking is ass, and because of this they temporarily moved the shuttle
  • ‘Local’ Food

    • Primanti Bros - Had a New Yorker, didn’t expect the coleslaw (usually not a fan), but tasted great! Also had a Drunk Duck which is much larger than the photo in the menu made it seem. 3/5 ⭐⭐⭐
    • Pizza Milano - Recommended by the hotel, if you like Little Caesar’s, it’s pretty similar. I’ve been told I should have tried Pizza Bari instead.
    • Bodega Alcoholic ‘Slushies’ - I refuse to believe they were only 15% ABV 4/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
    • Westin - I forgot the name of this one… The food in the lobby of the Westin. I only had a corndog, and it hit when I really needed food. This was very busy most of the times I passed it.
    • City Works - We did a ‘family dinner’ with friends of ours from another hotel room here. One of the better meals we all had in Pittsburgh. Take advantage of an offer they have in their menu to get a free appetizer when you sign up for their newsletter! They have handheld registers, so separate checks didn’t take too long. 4/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
    • Condado Taco - I made a mistake by getting a burrito bowl, I just didn’t think the tacos were going to be big enough. Bud Box (maybe +1 taco) is plenty of food. We had it delivered, but supposedly inside seating is neat? 3/5 ⭐⭐⭐
  • Other notes

    • New convention pro strat; Instead of wrestling a case of water, get a brita filter for the hotel room.
    • Finding bottles of liquor was a pain
    • Commissioned the first art of Slate here! Excited to see what Oakley sketches!
    • Largest Furry convention to date! 20,618!
    • Next time, I’d like to try to play Jet Lag’s Hide and Seek
    • With an extra day after the con (and a friend with a car) we decided to get a second dose of heat exhaustion at the Pittsburgh Zoo a few hours before it closed. We mainly went to see the Red Pandas, but they were curled up and hiding away. This was be a really bad zoo to build an ark with… Seemed like they only had one of each animal. (Un)fortunately we missed out on the gift shop, since were there up to closing.
    • Flying MDW was a pain the ass
      • There’s no good transport there other than going all the way downtown Chicago
      • Southwest flight attendants were lovely though!
